AFAP SURA joined the Montevideo Plateado initiative
  • As part of the International Day of Older Persons, the Pensar en Grande program painted the letters located on the city's coast promenade.

As part of AFAP SURA's support for the program Pensar en Grande: Innovando en Economía Plateada, (Think Big: Innovating in Silver Economy) the company joined the Montevideo Plateado initiative by painting the emblematic letters located on Rambla República del Perú in this color.

The action was developed within the framework of the International Day of Older Persons to raise awareness and sensitize on demographic aging in Uruguay and to identify the challenges and opportunities that the longevity of the population and the silver economy generate for the country.

In addition to representing the wisdom, experience and vitality that seniors bring to the community, the color was selected to pay tribute to this generation, make them shine so they don't go unnoticed and show commitment to active aging.

The letters will remain painted until Thursday, October 7 and those who wish can join the awareness campaign by uploading a photo of the Montevideo sign on social networks with the hashtags #montevideoplateado and #letrasmontevideo.

Pensar en grande is a collaborative program driven by the Inter-American Development Bank Group's Innovation Lab (IDB Lab), Endeavor and Xeniors.

The proposal aims to boost the silver economy in Uruguay by promoting innovation and supporting ventures focused on solutions to improve the quality of life of people over 50 and promote a more inclusive approach to business and society.

The silver economy is defined as that part of the global economy linked to the demographic change brought about by the aging of the population and its focus is on the needs and demands of older adults. This ranges from health and wellness services to adapted technology and leisure activities.
